I have over 35 years experience as a clinician, In my New York City private practice I provide individual, couple and family therapy to a broad spectrum of clients.
My areas of specialty include: couples, marriage, family and relationship therapy; as well as the treatment of trauma, addiction and recovery, anxiety and depression.I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work to help my clients build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
In addition to being a therapist I have been a program developer, administrator, consultant, trainer and supervisor, trainer. I was the founder and Director of Family Treatment at an outpatient center for addictions and mental health and a founding member of Metropolitan Psychotherapy and Family Counseling Practice, LCSW, PLLC., a group psychotherapy practice in New York City. I have presented at national conferences, professional organizations, mental health and addiction treatment centers, and have spoken to general audiences and on the radio . Topics I have presented include: relationship issues, couple and family problems; couples issues in the recovery process; the treatment of trauma and addictions; trauma and recovery; child abuse and neglect. I am a clinical supervisor and have been an adjunct professor at New York University School of Social Work..
